Re: clutch engagement
How loose is the belt? How much deflection? 45" is a long one....

Re: clutch engagement
Sounds like the spring is the problem, not letting it engage at the lower rpm. Can you take it out and re-try without it?

Re: clutch engagement
You have to have a spring. I have a CV Tech clutch and thought it needed a stronger spring, to make it shift easy. but found I had to rev it up to get it to engage. Went back to the stock spring, purple, and now it shifts a little stiffer but I can idle around smooth as silk.

Re: clutch engagement
update. thanks for all the help. i was reading a post by Tom, at cpp today about a new belt had to get set and polish the clutch. so i ran the cart for about one hour and it did help now i can start off foward or reverse at lower rpm and with out the loud pop. Tom said a few hours run time should do it in the post. so with only one hour now maybe it will just get better. i know the stock clutch is about 50% of what a new one from cpp would do. but for now its all i got. a new clutch one day soon i hope. it was alot of fun & work and reading. made my on motor mount but now ive got a ( BIG BLOCK )thanks to all i got alot of good information and help. THANKS.
