Default kohler opposed twin

I got a 0 turn mower thinking it is gonna be fixable,it has a blown hydrostatic tranny.Turns out the tractor is old as heck and bareley worth the gas for hauling it(it was free though), but now i got myself a kohler opposed twin and the engine is HUGE i think it said 25 horse but this thing should be able to pull stumps.
Do you think its worth getting the crankshaft machined to accept a clutch and drop it in the g1? It might just end up in a little sears tractor just for fun.lol

It supposedly runs good. The crappy mower its connected to might get revived but if the tranny is bad thats some big bucks, but with the big deck thats on it i could mow the lawn in like 8 passes lol.

getting the crankshaft machined to accept a clutch

You can get a clutch that will fit the shaft cheaper than having a shaft modified , unless it's your machine shop .

Fix the mower and turn it for a profit then spend the cash on the biggest motor you can afford. You might even end up with some spare cash.

Engine fires up and runs great. but I dont know if i could get a clutch as big as the shaft on this.I dont have a machine shop. The mower is out of the 80's and from what im guessing needs a new hydro pump. The deck is about shot and the whole thing is rigged up to mow. Im gonna keep the engine and scrap the tractor scrap metal is 10$ - 100lbs.

I put the 25hp Kohler cammand series in mine it runs Great in there!! The Comet clutch needed a little machine work but it went on no prob!! I want to 6:1 gears in it now and see what it can do. It has plenty of power now and does about 38 now so I will settle for a little less torque if any for some more top speed
