Default Is my belt too Loose??

ezgo with stock clutches, 24hp honda. I've lost complete power to the wheels.. I can't decide if its a clutch, belt or pumpkin issue. I'm starting with the belt. Its been fine for the last few years.. all of the sudden i couldn't drive up an incline and now it won't move the weight of the cart. I moved the engine all the way forward.. i can pinch the belt together.

I'd start with a new belt. But first,Jack up the cart on stands,Run it in gear and see what the clutches do and also the wheels. If the clutches are shifting and the wheels are stopped,Rear-Axle issues.

Here is a video of it on a jack. I can stop the wheels with my hands and rev the engine. You can't see both wheels.. but neither are moving once i stop the right side.

Too hard to tell what is happening in the video,If you put the cart on the ground,in gear, can you hold the brakes and load the motor,or does it rev easily? If so,something is broke or stripped.Possibly a hub-spline at the wheel.

That belt seems kind of loose, but in the video it looks like it drops into the secondary when you rev it and it is at top of primary on engine. It only needs to drop half way in secondary it can't go any more than that. I think I would check your shifter, just pull the belt off and with cart on ground turn the secondary by hand in F/R/N to make sure it is shifting. In gear the car should move with no slippage in the trans at all, lock brakes and turn secondary you should not be able to in either gear. If you run the cart on ground or brakes locked, the secondary on trans should not turn in gear when you gas the engine unless rear tires move. If it does not and trans checks out, then you have a belt or clutch problem. Belts can break the belts (strings) internally and stretch longer but it is not common especially on a low power GC. If you lock the brakes and hammer it and the belt burns/slips on the engine clutch (primary) you might have broken weights/etc in the clutch causing it to not have enough force when it closes. It would get a lot of rpm and seem to slip like crazy when it did that, like the belt was wet.

sorta hard to tell, but that rear pulley is moving rather fast, and nothing is happening beyond that.
It appears you lose it between the rear clutch pulley and the tires..that belt is awful loose, but it still is spinning the clutches.

Could also be the secondary is loose, I didn't think of that, slipping on the shaft. Only the outside will slip. But if the key comes out of there they usually wobble or make noise. Usually any problem in the trans itself is very obvious to the ears. I don't know if a posi kit could do that, if you have one.

Have you checked the hub/drum splines? If one is stripped, you could have that symptom. Just a thought.
