| I have read through and searched quite a few posts. I am starting to consider upgrading my 1995 Club Cars 290 to a 16HP or so motor (looking at the Duromax) I think I read I can use my clutch, and modify to mount the motor, and modify the throttle linkage. Any other things I should know before starting? Will I have reverse or not? Do I have CW or CCW and does it matter? Thanks for the help in advance folks! |

| The output (non-flywheel) side of most engines turns counter clockwise, just run yours to see. You can get an adapter from CCP to use stock taper clutches on 1" keyed shafts, I used one on a yamaha. You will have reverse unless you have an old 2 stroke cart, I don't think CC even made any only yami and ezgo and um, harley. I don't know all about the CW rotation engines in CCs or if the trans has different gearing forward and reverse, as you must run them in reverse all the time with a new engine if you have one of those. Or you have to run a jackshaft, or run the clutch on the flywheel side of a new engine. Dig around some CC threads here or maybe someone will post it. I don't know about the secondary running backwards either that might be a problem. |
