Big Block Club Car Willys
Just an update. The Honda GX620 engine fit into the cradle of my 98 CC with no problem, just extra holes to line it up. My guy installed high performance valve springs and we are debating to install the high performance roller rocker arms (1:3), what do you think about it.
Waiting for the tapered stock adapter, headers, cold air intake and 1:8 high speed gears to complete the engine part. Didn't know there was so much performance parts for the Honda engine. Probably can put another 500-700 in HP parts into it. Maybe later. I will post pictures this weekend. Can anyone tell me where to spend more money in the engine if needed? Most of the parts I purchased was from Parsons racing supplies. I'm holding off on the clutch for now to see how long the stock clutch will hold up. Kind of annoying but some of these golf cart sites do ship real slow. |

Re: Big Block Club Car Willys
if I do decide to go with a new clutch and driven clutch, which one does everyone recommend? Something that won't interfere with leaf springs, I have a 3" lift kit installed on the CC.
Also, has anyone put on coil over shocks on a CC DS? Any direct replacements? |

Re: Big Block Club Car Willys
The big power increase is with a cam, but make sure you can clutch it to run at what the cam needs....or get the right cam. For that you need minimum rod and valvetrain maybe flywheel. See if you can find a place that lists kits to mod them, see what is in the kit. Then you can go on to larger cams and ported heads, larger carbs, more compression, etc., but at some point the reliability can go down. Unless you can change it, a stock clutch will run around what a stock lawn engine does, if you mod the engine and can't mod the clutch it will not work well. Most all the mods will want higher rpm.
