Default big block install

I just got my 24 hp kit from ccp and was wondering if there is a detailed how to install instructions with pics somewhere? Also I was considering getting the high speed gears and wondered if anyone had done that and if it really dropped the bottom torque that much? I have installed engines in go-carts and mini bikes so I am not completely in the dark but I am permanently disabled and dont want to miss something and have to go back and undo and redo things. My cart is my main mode of transportation and cant have it down and out of service for very long. OH YEAH IF IT MATTERS i HAVE A YAMAHA G-16.Thanks a lot guys.I have learned so much from this site. The info is a God send.

Hey KWH. I'm pretty sure that there are instructions with the kit? If they are unclear, you can call Tom at CPP! He is awesome at the tech service and "how to's"

K-dub, It's all pretty straight forward, bust your camera out and take pics to post, IF/when you run into any problems, we can get ya through it in a hurry. The guys from CPP are on this board as well

I did mine and I am the worst kinda do-it-yourselfer, I have all the tools and very little skill
I started mine on Thurs. evening and was driving it the next Sunday afternoon. I was only able to work on it a couple hours a day.

Post what your questions are here, we'll all see it and get ya through it, but trust me, if I can do it.......you can

its pretty straight forward install, after you ride this thing you'll probably reconsider needing the hs gears!! its gonna fly!

Compared to a stock cart you don't have to worry about gears reducing torque with a V-twin. Sure it will, but a twin has power to spare for the most part. But with a rev kit you should make around 40mph give or take, most people put the gears in because they want less rpm while tooling down roads not always to go faster. With stock gears at 40mph it will be screaming. Larger tires will raise gearing a little more, such as 25s instead of 22s. If you have smaller tires then gears might be more of a necessity. In my experience with a stock club car gears in that were roughly the same as 23s on a lifted cart.

Do you have to remove the rear body to do the install? It says to in the instructions but with my roll cage and rear seat it would be a real pain in the a$$. Also it says to remove the belly pan or ( skid plate ). Do you have to? I want to ride the sand dunes and the skid plate would help out a little.

This is the way I did mine, I did not take the body off. Mine is a Ez-go though.

I cant find the pic of the new motor on the new cradle before I slid it back in....... anyway, I bolted everything up to the carrige, and slid it back in. Then just hooked everything up.

I would think you could do the same with the Yami? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I would REALLY like to do this. If I can figure out a way to be able to quit work, sell this house and move south, maybe then.

MMMMM...High Life
