Default Vanguard and charging?

What are you V Twin guys doing for charging system? I'm gathering parts for my swap, 89 EzGo...

My vanguard also has it's own internal charging system.

So I might be ok then? How do I know if I buy a used vanguard if it has a charging system?

If it has electric start it should have an alternator built in.

I know my Honda comes with a 3amp or 20amp circuit. You may want to get the serial/model number and see what you can find with that.

mine has electric start as well, however there was no switch, and even with trial and error and i cant get it to turn over, and dont know how to kill it once it is running. does anyone know how to hook up the battery and a run swithc to get it to start andkill from the key switch?

Most lawn engines you ground the coil to kill it, if it has a low oil sensor it will also ground the coil to kill it. So all you need for key switch is start wire to the starter solenoid to make the starter go (sends 12v to starter solenoid), nothing for run, and ground the coils to kill it on key stop. Some have a fuel cut in the carb you have to figure out if it has that. The charge wire from the coils under the flywheel should have a diode on them to convert to DC, some even have a voltage regulator, that all ends up going to the battery positive. That is in general, but should help make a diagram more understandable.
