Default Clean Slate - Which Block??

I currently have a 2006 EZGO TXT 2+2 with its regular tin can running on 6" lift and 23" tires. Given a 2,500 budget, which 'bolt-on' block would you recommend? Vanguard, B&S, Honda??

Some restrictions:
1. I will sink my money on the block. Besides that, I am not willing to spend a lot of money on other 'less significant mods' (headers, filters, jets, etc.) .
2. Don't want something that will be too hard to mount on my cart. Therefore, jet engines, aftermarket diesel engines, etc are out of the question .

Regards,

I think the only true 'bolt on' big block you are going to find is from Tom @ Dixie.

That's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure I had done my 'due diligence'. I already spoke to Tom. Cool cat, and very nice indeed.

This is the kit I would go with. They also have a 18 HP for less $$$.

Check here>Vanguard Engine Kit

I totally agree with "TNG".....CPP's (Tom's) kits are outstanding ! If you tried to "peice" togeather all the parts needed...you and I would spend alot of "wasted" time and energy and MONEY! The last "kit" I installed (a 23 hp into a G16 Yamaha) took a total of 2 hours! That was taking out the old (non useable parts) and installing the new kit ! Put oil in it/gas/turn the key and instant torque and speed! With your budget you could have some extra's, but try the stock unit........You will be picking bugs out of your teeth from the smile on your face! Good luck Dave

My choice is the Honda kit - but unfortunately you can't touch it for $2,500.00. Are you going to lift the cart or leave it stock height?

My cart is already lifted with a 6" spindle kit. What would be the going rate for the Honda as a bolt in?
