ezgo txt 450cc
I'm building a 98 ezgo txt with a ktm 450cc dirtbike motor. I'm going with the Jakes disk breaks setup in the front. The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is my drive train. If I put a sprocket in the stock rear-end I figured one the suspension travels up or down the chain will fall off. If I weld the rear-end in place its gonna be too rough of a ride. My brother wants to fabricate a swingarm for the back and mount the motor and rear-end on it. I think that's gonna be a really rough ride for the motor and the motor mounts.

Re: ezgo txt 450cc
What the rear-end with a sprocket and a chain? Or the swing arm?

Re: ezgo txt 450cc
As your brother suggested, The motor and rear axle mounted to a swing arm and pivot from the center of the cart frame.

Re: ezgo txt 450cc
From what I can see. U mounted the shocks after the read-end. Did u mount it to the brackets for the rear leafs. Or did u make new ones.

Re: ezgo txt 450cc
If you go through the build pics you can see I had to build a complete frame from the seat back and from the gas pedal forward. I used coilovers mounted behind the axle, spring rate is 80 pounds. My cart wound up weighing 1150 pounds without me in it. Any question you have, someone here will have the answer. There are several bike engine builds going on right now, I just hope they all finish them.

Re: ezgo txt 450cc
That's what I'm gonna do. The only thing I'm gonna leave is the mounts for the plastics. I'm planning on using 2x2 steel to make the swing arm.
