Can I get a duromax 16hp super quiet?

Picked up a '93 yamaha g8 without an engine. Think I'm going to go the duromax route. Just want to know if I can get it to run quietly enough to use on the golf course. I did search here but didn't find exaclty what I was looking for. I realize it will probably be corked up a bit to get it that quiet. So does anyone have any proven setups or maybe a video to show how quiet it can get?

There are some gen mufflers on ebay at times, sometimes the small engine warehouse places have them too. You might need a pair of them if for small HP, though the gens run at high rpm usually so if close it should be ok. Two stock mufflers might work. You can get it quiet but might take some trial and error.

I had a precedent muffler welded onto my Duromax and it is surprisingly quiet. I would bet you could get away with it on the golf course no problem. I'd give you a video clip but the mic on my phone is garbage and distorts sound pretty bad.

Hey I got a email a while back from Walker muffler's tech, they said this one should be quiet if you can fit it:
Also note that a tailpipe in the muffler makes it work better, compared to no tailpipe which will be louder.

I plan to use this muffler when I ever get back to putting a clone in. Hey its $36 shipped on ebay, maybe less at a store near you. Just hope I can fit it in there. I'll use a tailpipe around 1" like the header, that should help. The stock G9 tailpipe is quite long I think some other lawn mufflers have a long pipe inside to get away with no tailpipe.

I was able to get the exhaust quiet on mine but a lot of the loud noise you hear could be coming from the internal workings of the engine, not just the exhaust.

I agree, my clone has more engine noise than my v-twin.

The one I did does not seem to be that loud, though the exhaust is louder than stock so maybe that covers it up? It is about loud as a garden tractor at most.
