Question regarding switching out gears
Ok,
So I have a 6 passenger shuttle I bought and am in the process on upgrading it to a big block. I purchased the 23hp Vanguard from TOM and a purchased the 8:1 gears. I have the cart broken down and the engine switch out is very easy. It seems the gear change is down easily by splitting the rear axle and switching the gears. Are there any tips or suggestions before I start this project? THanks for any advice. Tom |

Re: Question regarding switching out gears
Suppose it depends on what trans it is. I did a CC and it was really easy, I left the axles on and set it on the wheel so the top (side of case) was up. Took that axle off and took case half off. Took gears and bearings out and replaced, flushed the bottom axle out and the case, put case back together, put top axle back on, put back in cart. Filled the lube and it worked like a charm. That CC was running 28gps hitting the limiter on an old CC with the flathead, otherwise totally stock cart. That cart had another gearbox for reverse that I took off before I split the case.
