Default finally

three years ago my teenage son and his friend blew up my cart. a lot of things have come up since then, but now i'm putting it back together. 2 years ago i started collecting parts that got shoved in the garage.

parts pile:

16hp electric start carrol stream clone honda motor. (started for the first time today on the work bench after sitting for over 2 years)

yamaha blaster front end.

jackshaft (built today)

pile-o-steel for new engine craddle

progress so far: transaxel removed, axel blocks cut off, and new ones made. new jackshaft fabricated for drive clutch. clone motor running.

Is it a clubcar you need the shaft for? Sure we love builds keep us up to date. We will even give you a lot more ideas (translation: give you lots more work to do)

i already have plenty to do, but always welcome a good idea. yes, i have a '97 club car with a clockwise transaxel. that's why i decided to use a jackshaft set up and set my motor with the head pointing bacwards like in your ez go. this works out a lot easier than taking a motor with a 'through shaft' on the flywheel side because it can use the stock belt, doesn't have weak flywheel bearing issues, and any counterclockwise motor that fits under the seat will work. the last point is motivated by the fact that i have a teenage son who is prone to blowing things up.

but...... the throttle linkage is a little more involved. that's why i would like to see how you ez go guys do it. also, i'd like to know where you got your exhaust flange from and how you adapted your carb for your air cleaner.

right now i'm waiting on some 1 inch pillow blocks for my 'custom' jackshaft.

I'd have to dig for my photos but the throttle and choke I made a plate over the flywheel and put levers there to run them off the yamaha cables. The exhaust we cut the stock G9 flange off and enlarged the holes a little, welded pipe to that. The carb was a cluster mess of pvc, I'd recommend getting the clone with the airbox above the carb it is much easier than the one on the carb we used. But the G9 is very close to the rear shock so its more of a problem. The overhead clone airbox you can hook a hose right off the top of it to a remote filter, way easier. We used the airbox and hose from a GM cavilier or something, then I ran 2" pvc under the floor to under the front body to get clean air. Lots of dust here so that helped a lot. Mounted the GM box on a stand where the stock airbox was.

yeah......my carb set up is the same as yours. wish i had the other one. to late for that. i ma try to make my own flanges for the carb and exaust. club car throttle is a little goofier than the easy go. more fabbing needed there as well.

There was a guy on ebay selling that airbox and/or the part that goes on the carb, new parts.

The exhaust is a standard flange sure you can find it someplace, but the intake one bolt is offset its a strange thing. The cart places have a billet intake flange/tube you put a hose on, but not cheap. They put a wire lined radiator hose on it, or that turbo silicone hose might work. They have 90s in each. I have a place that can machine any flange, but you know, I have to pay them and find stock to make it from lol. What I really want is to make an intake that aims the carb at the rear of engine, or away from the starter side. Then I could pipe it any way, the trans is not in the way there at all.
