Looking to buy just the gasket for when I pull the governor. I googled it and it looks like I have to buy a whole $50 gasket set. Who sells jut the side cover gasket?

They don't normally use any sealant on those anyway, you should be fine if you're careful when pulling it apart especially if it's a new motor. Worst case, money well spent.

Surely somebody sells just the side cover gasket. I was thinking about putting in CPP's cam along with the rev kit. It's really silly how pulling a governor led me to a cam, rev kit, etc... Horsepower is addictive...

Armed with model, type and date code from your blower housing, your local small engine or lawn mower shop should list gaskets, O-rings and crank seal if ya booger it.
Ebay shows a complete kit minus seals for $28.00 |
