Anyone running a precision cam?
Just put a precision cam and double valve springs in my 23 vanguard just wondering if anyone has used one and did you need a high torque starter?

I didn't get a good look, you better make some more video......lol!
Sometimes larger gauge battery cables to the starter/block can give the starter more power. |

Heat is wasted power. I hear you I still don't have the video of the clone I wanted, you know roosters and all that.

I went to the local parts store, and bought a battery cable with eyelets on each end... And went that way. No way did I trust the smaller cables

Re: Anyone running a precision cam?
Most of the performance cams delete the compression release, makes it harder for the starter.

Re: Anyone running a precision cam?
A little racing-trick,run a toggle-switch for your ignition.Hit the starter, get the motor spinning, then flip the switch. It works awesome on cars with big-compression and 38 degrees timing. With the compression and timing they won't roll-over easily, but with the ignition disabled they spin like crazy. We ran stock GM starters in the stock-car with that set-up and it fired like a daily-driver even after a long race. Also an added security-device!Hope this helps.
