The little guy riding the yellow cart with the Snowmobile engine was only 9 years old at the time the vid was made. He makes me proud he's my God Son. You can hear him laughing out loud at one point in the vid, having a blast.

I would recommend a F/C SnoMo motor for a cheap transplant.. you have to sell a kidney to go V-Twin LOL... I am running the same motor Rifter has in the cart above and it's pretty **** fast.

There are a couple factors that play into performance of putting a SnowMo into a cart:
1. Expansion Chamber/Pipe -- Already talked about here.. Need at least the full stock exhaust to let the engine run to it's full potential. (it's a 2-stroke thing)
2. Gears -- with golf carts having a 13 or 12:1 rear end you are only going to get so much top end out of them -- 40-50mph is realistic @ 7000rpms. I have a 10.5:1 rear end with a Limited Slip kit and that helps a ton... but it feels like it would rock with 6:1 when driving down the street. It's hard to launch on hardpack and does dukes of hazard style burnouts on command.
3. Clutching -- the stock golf cart secondary is usually set up for a smaller belt than the Snowmo Primary... So the Seconday will typically not let the fatty belt drop all the way down limited top speed even more.... If you have an EZGO rear end you can fix this by running a Plaris ATV, RZR, Ranger secondary made by Team Industries. This helped mine on top and out of the whole... Still could use fine tuning but only so much you can do with the low gears. From 0-35 mine is a rocket and it tops out around 55.

I would also recommend some good brakes.. I have disk brakes on just the rear and it could REALLY use some fronts.....
