I ordered a 16hp chinese motor and it should arive this monday, but before I get it I would like to know if I can use my stock clutch and belt.
I would also like to know; how people who have used the 16 or 13 HP honda clones liked them? do they start easy in the winter? how much speed you can get out of it? what clutch set up did you use? can you do any performance up grades to them? and, how can you make them realy quiet? I know their is alot of questions but any help would be great |

I just got done installing a Gx390 clone engine in my G2. It has plenty of power and is very peppy. I'm not sure exactly which engine you purchased but I'm assuming its the Powermax 16hp that is identical to the 390cc and just bored to 16hp. I purchased performance parts for my engine here. I'm not sure if these will work on your engine but I remember reading on a carting forum that they will.
http://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm5...gory_Code=GPPX I am running a Comet 780 clutch that I purchased from Cpp, one of the site sponsors. It is a smooth clutch and works alot better than the 94C which is what I was running before. To make them quiet you would have to run a silencer on them. They are actually quite quiet with the stock muffler. I would say try it out and if its too loud someone here will help you figure out what needs to be done. One more note is since these are gravity fed engine the gas tank is on top of the engine and can cause a clearance problem. I purchased a aftermarket tank off of Ebay and mounted it behind the seat. This eliminates the clearance issue completely. I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions ask away! |

Kyle,
The belt size depends on your cart and how you do the install. If you can tell us the model of your cart and also maybe a few pictures of it that would be great! EDIT: Ok just re read it and I feel like a dumb***!!! Haha. I will post some pictures of my engine install for you kyle, hang on... Thanks |
