CV06 Clutch clearance issue
My new clutch is a little too long...clearance issue with the spring shackle.
Anybody know if the roller clutch CPP offers is any shorter? If not what do I do? 8" lift? |

Re: CV06 Clutch clearance issue
My engine sets substantially forward of that. I had to shave off the "lip" on front of the spring bolt, but it still had enough room. Also... Are you sure the clutch is in the correct spot? Mine still had room to clear the bolt.

This was all done with the transaxle/engine cradle assembly on a work bench. I've since read a thread where its a known issue that the CVtech06 will NOT clear the leaf spring shackle on CC's. It's the sticky on Big Block Talk about clutch options. I'm really curious about how people are dealing with this. My thoughts so far are...in order of least to most preferential; 1. Raise the cart more but I don't really want to do this unless completely necessary. 2. I can definitely gain a little by dropping the front of the engine crade another inch or two (already lowered 2"). But I don't think this will completely eliminate the issue...just make it a little better. 3. Move the axle over an inch. This will involve some surgery and a 1" spacer on the right wheel. This is the only 4. Buy a clutch that is narrow enough to clear the obstruction. |

How far below the spring bolt does your clutch bolt set? Trying to get an idea of how mine will set when I get the 6" lift installed. Thanks!

Re: CV06 Clutch clearance issue
I'd have to say by looking at your pic that the '08 roller clutch is shorter, but call CPP and find out or sure......

Re: CV06 Clutch clearance issue
Here's where mine ended up. By looking at your pic, the cradle is the same as mine, not the later stamped one, so this setup "should" work. See what you think Kimmer71 .....BTW - This pic was pre-sawzalled angle bracket!
