Measure for belt
How do you measure for the correct belt length if you've changed the engine to a V-twin honda with a Team rapid response clutch. It's in a EZ-GO workhorse. Could you run a string around the driven clutch outside dia. and into the bottom of the drive clutch.

Re: Measure for belt
I wrap a flat survey string around the inner (close to engine) side of the drive clutch and around the outside of the axle driven clutch. Mark the string where they overlap, remove and measure.

Re: Measure for belt
I just did this last week. Many people on this forum have suggested this way to measure. I used a seamstress tape measure and wrapped it over the inside of the primary and the outside of the secondary. I added two inches to that measurement. The belt is a perfect fit.

Re: Measure for belt
Make sure you buy your belt from a place that can exchange for another size...just in case. I bought 4. I haven't posted it yet but I installed a CVtech80 which accepts a 1 1/4 wide belt. To max out performance I had my Secondary clutch helix machined for $20 and it opens now enough to allow the 1 1/4 belt to ride right at the top and will go all the way down in the clutch for top rpm's.

Re: Measure for belt
Measure the width of the old belt and go to "access dayco" web site and they have snowmobile/ATV belts by sizes the one I needed was for a johndeere spitfire 340 sled. I took that part # to napa and they got one for me.

That is gonna be tough to find one that long.....can you re-engineer to shorten the gap?

Re: Measure for belt
The measure and add 2" didnt work for me belt was still to short. And that 58" is pretty long might to move the motor closer.

Re: Measure for belt
I can move the engine back maybe 2", but any further I have to completely remodel the mounting sysem for the transaxle. Found a variable speed belt on BeltPalace 60.5". extrapolating from the measurement, I think I would only have to move the engine forward about an inch and a half. Still looking at it.
