How much Damage did I do
I was driving the cart down the street with at about 70% throtal for about 1/3 of a mile, after a long trail ride, and it started to bog down and almost stalled about 10 feet in front of my diveway. I was able to get it up the driveway then when I took my foot off the gas it stalled. When I opened the engine compartment it was fairly hot, but not too too bad. This is a brand new engine (I completly forgot about break in hence why it was at 70% throtal) I think it over heated but I'm not sure if those are the symptomes of over heating. Or it may be the spark plug being fawaled because I've been shuting it off by putting on the choke to stall it till I finish wireing. The motor still runs fine I would just like to know how much damage I did.
I did cut 2 large rectangle holes under the seat to create more air flow after the issue. BTW I was runing the cart with no rear plastic or skid plate at the time of the incident, so I did not expect to find that much heat in the engine compartment. |

Re: How much Damage did I do
Break in period? What's that? When we install a 24 hp Honda kit, I tell my customers to run it like they stole it. What motor do you have? You could have a fouled plug - let's hope...

Re: How much Damage did I do
MMT I hope you were just kidding on this.
I have to say, "drive it like you stole it" is the dumdest advice I ever heard a dealer give to a customer. Everything, even electric carts not only give better performance but longer life if you take it a little easy and allow things to wear in. I know we sometimes reply with info for just the poster, but alot of other people read this info. |

Re: How much Damage did I do
If I paid that much for a cart there is no way I would drive it like I stole it.
