Can anyone tell me what all I may need?
If I get my new ignition and solenoid hooked up and find the motor is crap, I have seriously been looking at this as a replacement:
http://www.harborfreight.com/engines...nia-69464.html I have been told I need a 4 cycle rear end (still looking as to where locally to find one), but what else? New clutch? belts? Anyone know for sure? I am trying to get a total cost to do it, before buying the motor and then finding out I also need a ton of other parts. Any help is appreciated. |

Nothing?
I will attempt to "unstick" my stock motor and am hoping for the best, but may wind up down this road. Any help is appreciated. |

I guess another question is how good are the Predator engines?

Are you asking about putting a 4 stroke motor in a 2 stroke cart?
You won't have any reverse and that gets old fast. |

Ron,
Off the top of my head you will need to, Fabricate an engine cradle Find a crankshaft adapter to fit the clutch Replace the clutch for one that allows the cart to idle Fabricate throttle and choke links Rewire the cart to key start Remove the 1 gallon tank Fit a low pressure electric fuel pump Replace the rear axle Find a new belt As a slide aside my engine was completely locked when I found it. As long as the crankcase halves and the cylinder head are still good the complete engine rebuild kit (which you can find for under $400) will give you a new engine. If you then have money left over for a new BV18 carburetor ($99) and a new fuel pump ($33) you will have a tight engine that will surprise you with its energy. Dave |

Dave........ WOW!
Looks like I will definitely try my luck with this one first. I don't have anywhere near the metal fab skills for all of that. |

I honestly didn't know it would be all that involved. I have seen kits for "big block" engine mounts, but not one for a cart as old as mine.
Honestly, I was hoping it would be easier.... |
