Default Governor Adjustment Honda GX610

Trying to figure out how to lower the idle on my Honda GX610. Right now my engine idles right around 1450-1500, and occasionally the clutch/belt does not release and the cart wants to keep moving when I come to a stop. At startup, I can idle in gear and the cart will not move, but after driving it and coming to a stop, the cart wants to keep rolling at idle like the clutch is still engaged. I tried to simply adjust the idle screw on the carb, but the governor keeps bumping the RPMs back up to around 1450-1500. Is there nothing I can do without removing the governor??? I really wanted to keep it, as this is a family/farm utility vehicle and I wanted to keep it governed.

I have a 1992 Club Car Carryall 2, Honda GX610 and a CVTech 06 clutch.

Thanks in advance!!!

The compression release starts to kick in about there. Odd but true. The governor will try to keep the cart running.
If it is electric start only, you can remove the compression release from the cam, then idle as low as you'd like.

It will be very hard to pull start without it. ( I like to have a pull start backup.)

Talk to tom at CPP, maybe he has a slightly stronger spring you can use to get it to disengage lower. Or you could remove a tiny bit of weight from each puck in the clutch.

Call tom, he can set you up.

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if clutch adjustments would help also. I will shoot Tom an email.
