can anyone tell me about how much room a big block takes up in an average cart? i just bought an old 4 wheel pargo and would like to switch it to a gasser and i think it needs a big block. i'm thinking that i'll have some trouble finding an old axle to fit right. it looks to be more narrow than a newer cart, and it's pretty tight under there. thought if i could start getting parts a few at a time maybe i could get something done this winter.

i know that someone on here can tell me about how wide, tall and long a big block is with a clutch installed?....and how far away from the axle it sits....i know you can get different belts to change your center to center on your pulleys, but there has to be something kinda normal. can you set the motor at the same level as the center line of tha axle or does it have to be higher due to clearance? i wouldn't be asking if i could buy a kit, but i'm guessin no one can tell me where to get one for an old pargo...i don't mind making most of it if i have to.
i don't mind buying parts to do this but i'm not gonna buy an axle and a big block to find out it won't fit without changing the cart size. i would like to keep the body the same size just fix it up and repower the cart. |

Here's the specs for a 24HP Honda.
http://honda-engines.com/engines/gx670.htm I would probably add maybe 1-2" to the length for the clutch. |

my build thread has the mounting plate dimension. you can set the motor in height anywhere. it just has to be on centerline clutch to clutch
