Re: best cart to start a bb build??
They all have plus & minus.Ez-Go has to be lifted,Yamaha can be done in a stock cart,Club-Car has Reverse-Rotation certain years,so you need to swap-rears or work with the gearing-issue(It will run in reverse, which is a lower ratio than forward, and forward is pretty low).Durability is pretty close on all 3-makes.It all comes down to what you can afford, want to spend, and how much you can do yourself. We build Ez-Gos' and Yamahas',We build our own Lift-Kits,Mounts,Cradles,Exhaust,Linkages,etc...We are set up to do so and have the experience, others need bolt-in stuff due to not having the knowledge or time,Or just want to bolt it up,fire it up and go.Its' a project,go with what feels right to you.Hope this helps.

Re: best cart to start a bb build??
Personally I like yamaha the best due to experience I've had with them and how they drive. I'd do an ezgo they have the most parts available. CC I have to say are not my favorites the front end is strange and you can't just weld on the frame, the rotation issue, etc. They are all good carts and you can do any one of them. I can tell you the older yamaha there is not a lot of spare room in the engine area, but you can fit one in there no problem. You could also check out the work carts that come factory with the box on the back, typically they have a lot more room under that box and are easier to big block for that reason. Sometimes they have posi rears too. (and fuel gauges and other cool stuff)

Check out C-Bo's build thread here. That thing is badass!
Also check the Lifted Carts & Big Block Talk areas. Tons of other builds in there. |
