Default Fair Deal... or Not???

Background:
1) Just joined the BGW forum a week ago.
2) Own 2 Club Car gassers; an 08 Precedent 4 seater w/ maybe 200 hours on it (purchased new in 4/09) and an 04 GS with >1,000 well-maintained hours that I'm turning into a hunting cart.
3) Already put a Jakes 6" lift kit, Jakes frt disc brakes, 22x10x10 tires, winch and a few other items on the 04. $1,000 out of pocket so far.
The Deal:
I trailered my 08 Precedent the 100 miles to Tom at Dixie Sales/CPP today. We tentatively agreed to:
1) Have CPP swap a 23 HP Vanguard full conversion kit, an 8:1 High Speed gear set (to offset the CW/CCW loss of top end), a Vanguard gauge pkg, and an analog tach for the 08 Precedent.
2) What's in the CPP Vanguard kit?: Includes Motor, Mount, Drive Clutch, Driven Clutch, Belt, Wiring Harness, Air filter, Polished Stainless Header, Muffler, Throttle Cable, Brackets.
3) CPP will install the complete Vanguard pkg, plus the tach and gauges, in exchange for the 04 FE 290 engine they're taking out (290 engine is in excellent condition, ran a compression check yesterday that read 155).
4) I'll pay $250 out of pocket to have them go into the g/box and install the HS gears.
5) The online value of all the goodies I'm buying from CPP is right at $3K.

Is this a decent exchange? Have I forgotten anything? I'll take my 04 down there next week to "seal the deal" and start the upgrade.

The best deal is...You will have one "killer" car when Tom is done and done right! If you have any problem, I know he will make it right. You can't get that from a Craigslist ad/a salesman or a guy that builds them on the side, In my opinion. PS-get the cam and rev kit and advanced timing key!

That will have to wait until next year ($). One followup item, CPP also makes a 6:1 HS gear set for the Kawasaki transaxle. I'm not a speed demon, but should I go ahead and get the 6:1 gear set rather than the 8:1? Price + install is a wash. With 38 ft lbs of torque in the 23, IMO low end shouldn't be a problem with either gear ratio.
I just want to shoot Bambi, not outrun him.

With that set up you'll be killing Bambi soon...(BAD MAN!) Ask Tom, he won't sell anything that's not to your build specs/needs. PS-is this a fair deal for Bambi?

This is a good deal for Bambi as well. At least I'll be able to get him out of the woods and to the processor. As a 63 yo with a bad back (and my front ain't too sporty either), hauling them out has been the biggest hassle the last few years.
I feel the big one comin' on!

I got tired of agonizing over what to do next with the hunt cart engine. If I had swapped the Precedent 350 engine with the DS 290 engine, I might have ended up with 2 screwed up carts. So BB here I go. I didn't really need two carts anyway. I was impressed with Tom and CPP down on Lake Seminole today. I put a 1500 lb winch on the frt of my hunt cart, been toying around with the idea of some kind of pivot arm that would allow me to hoist the deer into the cart bed using the winch cable routed over the top of the cart. Need to get me a roll cage like yours to really make it work.
Just have to make sure all my deer weigh less than 1500 lbs!

But I'll be happy to be a guinea pig on your design.

Headed to Durham on Thursday to celebrate my Moms 87th on Friday.
