Default 18 briggs swap started

Removed the clone and started the 18 install last weekend. I am hoping the power increase will be worth the swap. The part that has me troubled the most is fab of the exhaust. Any ideas or pic would be great.

You are really going to enjoy the extra power.. a lot.

As for the exhaust, I built my first one using the flanges off the exhaust
I had (sort of like yours) and it was not really what I was looking for..

I eventually got one of Toms headers but I am in the process now of making
another one for my new(er) engine. It will take me days and days to be done with it.. lol..

Looks good so far.. !!

You can also call tom at cpp and see what he will sell you one of his for. His a very simple and pretty quiet since you going to be hunting with it. My brother has his kit and it's pretty quiet

got the exhaust done from black pipe. it will only run with choke on fully. i dont beleive the carb solenoid is working correctly. i can here it click but it will not open. can i fix this by clipping the end off of it like i have seen on computer or will that just flood the carb. thats all i have left then i can put cradle back in hook up choke, throttle cable, fuel and battery and ready to go. ideas

Just my 2 cents but I've done the solenoid trick and it worked fine for me just be sure to take as little as possible off so you just expose the main jet and you'll be good to go. That solenoid was used to prevent back firing by closing off the fuel to the jet but I experienced no problems at all.

My fuel shutoff solenoid was seized closed when I got it, the carb had old gas and the tip was coated with varnish... I cleaned it and it works fine.

Don't know about clipping it, but it shouldn't flood it..if you did cut it I would think, since it is just a valve.
