Default Which Big Block??

Ok guys I bought an older Club Car, (that I actually don't even know what year it is) for the purpose of building a cart from the ground up. Which is a good thing because it does not have an engine, and its not much to look at, but I think I did ok on the buy.
Now my question is which Big Block would you pick? I want it to have plenty of power, but I don't want to build something that is going to break parts and not be reliable. I have been looking at everything from the 16HP clone Honda motor, the B&S V twinn, to the 19HP Kaw. I am going to have lots of questions because this will be my first cart.
So to the guys that have them please tell me the good along with the bad experiences that you have had with your Big Block build. And after having them running for a while how are they running now?

Sorry for the long post, but I have been wanting to ask these questions since I joined the site. And here is a few pics of my cart don't laugh.

hey mark, i have a 91 club car ds. i started out just like you. i wne t with the briggs v-twin kit form cart parts plus. i got it with the cam and rev kit. you wont be disappointed. ive beat mine pretty hard so far and had no problems. plus it has plenty of power. i can ride with the polaris sprtsman 500s and keep right up no problems. but you do need a minimum of a 4 in lft to clear that motor.
good luck and keep us posted!!

well i have had mine for about three months now, i have the 18 hp with the cam and rev kit, plus the 2 into one header. i used a different muffler than the one provided in the kit though, i didnt like the bulky size of the original. it will definetly make you happy!!!

Very happy with my 16hp water cooled Kawi. On it's second dune season and use it every weekend and have shown it no mercy. It has never given an ounce of trouble.

Here's a link to it:
