Calculating spacing for chain drive sprockets
Since I was having so much trouble trying to figure out why my chain driven setup was popping even after making a chain tensioner, I did a little research and will now step back and punt so to speak. I will try to totally redo the layout this weekend based on what I found I had done wrong.
This is what I found in case you are attempting to use a chain drive too: Center to Center sprocket measurments should be: -no less than 1.5 times the diameter of the larger sprocket -no less than 30 times the chain pitch -no more than 60 time the chain pitch here is the link to the site with the sprocket diameters listed http://www.ustsubaki.com/pdf/l10916_...et_catalog.pdf here is the link to the site with the chain pitch listings http://www.gizmology.net/sprockets.htm Hope this helps you calculate your dimensions before you get started. |
