Exclamation smoke stacks back pressure question

so ive got my r1 in my ez-go , and there isnt much ground clearance because of the exhaust. so ive decided that im not going to have them go under the engine and i want to route them to on the sides and then go into 2 stacks . there are 4 cylinders which means that there are 4 tubes coming off of the bike and then all go into 1 tube underneath the bike int this little box called the x-up system. ive heared that that thing just gives it back pressure? not really sure...... anyhow the question is, do i have to have that x up thing in there or can i route 2 cylinders going off to the right side of the engine and then the other 2 go off to the left and then connecting the 2 going off to each side into 1 so then i will have 2 stacks sticking up in the air? or do i need a certain back pressure?

so i did some more research and the exup system gives you low end power and its all for sound and back pressure, so i think that i want it... so how would i route it into my stacks?

You can run it any way you want, but they might have that thing in there for good reason on the stock bike. Either you fit it in there or don't I guess. Robertson torque tubes will make you pipes any way you need them.

On a custum build, with build fit and clearance issues, you maybe better off building a header and useing a "Supertrap" adjustable muffler to get the back pressure you want. Just me.

Supertrap been around a long time, it has disks on the end of it and more you put on the less pressure it has and louder it is.

I can't say about the Yammy's but I've run CBR 1000 and GSXR 1000's straight piped in sand machines. I never ran stock exhaust so I can't say it lost low end or not but it didn't harm the engine.
