Default How is air gas ratio controled?

How is air gas ratio controled on a 16hp honda clone or just a honda 390. I dont see a mixing screw. My motor is running realy rich past ideal and will sputter alot past ideal, as if the air intake is still at ideal seting and the gas at whatever position past ideal I have it. Any help would be great.

high speed jet is probably fixed. same as a normal golf cart.
drop the carb and measure the main jet with torch cleaning tips.

check your air filter and see if it is plugged. that will richen it up.

also check your muffler and make sure it is not plugged also. Yamaha G2/G9 carts will plug their mufflers once they start burning oil

Before I posted this thread I cleaned the muffler, allthough it was not nesasary, and atempted to clean the carb, but I could not do much because I cant get the carb out unless I move the engine over. But any way is the front flap (not the choke, but after it) in the carb supost to moves to add more air when given more thotal , because nothing to do with the air intake moves when I give it more throtal. The main problem is it is geting to much gas and not enough air past idle. It idles graet. And the air filter looks as clean as the day I got it.

there are two plates the first is the choke and the second is the throttle plate. both should move. first by the chole cable and second by the gas pedal

you should be able to pull the throttle cable and watch the second plate move

My choke plate is only a little flap only about .35 of an inch. It opears to have 2 other plates, the last one being the throttle. I will take a closer look tomarow to varify this and update. Thanks for all the help so far.
