16hp Briggs Build with 2 barrel carb

1989Marathon

Here's the start of my build. It's a Briggs 303447 16hp engine. I ran it stock last summer and it ran good, but I'm looking for a little more power.
I must have over revved it because I found 2 bent pushrods. I am upgrading to 1/4" rods. Rev-kit, steel head gaskets, and 2bbl carb/intake are also getting installed. I removed the governor from the cam and will be plugging the hole in the cover. I left the compression release on the cam. This is what you get after 5 hours of cleaning. Does anyone know how this thing goes back together?

I think those little things on the left there go on top, yeah I'm sure of it.

Nice job it looks great. Some of those you can put the 23hp cam in for a cheap upgrade, I'd have to look it up though.

I bought that cam any yes i know how it goes back together i just have to send the block out first and then i will be doing a pictoral build up on it as i see nobody has done one on here yet. so all i can say is its in the works , also what did you clean your parts with they look great.

Mineral spirits, a small brass brush, and a scotchbrite pad.
What are you sending the block out for?
What motor do you have? Are you going with the 2bbl setup?
