16 HP Briggs and Stratton, will it work???
Put this up on the CC gas board, then actually looked a little further down and found this. YEA!!!!
Looking through the want adds and came across this. Wondering if anyone knew if it could be adapted to work in my '92 gas CC? I'm pretty good on the fabrication side, just wondering about a clutch and rotation issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lester. TWIN 18hp I/C PLUS RUNS GOOD, DUAL EXHAUST, ELECTRIC START,USES ARE ENDLESS!! |

Well it depends how good you are and how many parts you can get a hold of... my cousin just put a 16hp in a yamaha G-1 frame with a club car rear-end. If you have any questions give me a shout.

Re: 16 HP Briggs and Stratton, will it work???
Well, I went and bought it today . Got it for $200, checked it out running and everything is good. Slight miss on one of the cylinders, not much just a pop out the exhaust every once in a while. The shaft is 1" straight, looking for clutch options? Thanks, Lester

Re: 16 HP Briggs and Stratton, will it work???
Looks like no biggie to get the motor in! Now, just a few questions:
1)What fuel pump is everyone using with these motors? My engine didn't come with one, but I do have the factory unit on the CC. 2)Does the starter work also as an alt/gen on the V-Twin? I would think so but not sure at this point. I will be ordering the 780 clutch from CPP, what else should I look into ordering that I might need? Thanks for the answers in advance! Lester |

Your carb has a built in pump on this engine. No the starter is not the altenator. Charging rectifier should be on the front shroud by the carb. Its a lil box with 3 wires coming off of it. 2 go to stator on the flywheel and the single red wire is for charging.
