Default gx390 starter wiring info/help

ok,as per many folks on here has helped me i feel this is correct, but still have a problem, solenoid i think?

got a universal key switch w/out a ground cause i want seperate ground for hidden switch.

key switch says..accs,batt,starter and ignition.
from the solenoid big lug to hot battery.
from hot side of battery to batt on switch.
the lil spade on solenoid to the starter on key switch,"momentary hot"
battery grounded to frame and engine block.
does the ignition part of switch not hook to anything?

i dont have the charge wire,or magnito hooked up as i want the magnito to be on a seperate switch"hidden"to kill the engine..

when i try to start it the starter turns over when i go to the on pos with key..i tryed reversing wire thinking i was wrong but im sure im not..still the same.

dissasembled starter to check bendix drive everything looks new..put back together still the same problem..

it gotta be the solenoid thats my problem im thinking?what you guys think..

With a lawn type switch the mag hooks to the switch and will be grounded at "off" position through another ground wire or the switch body. You can add another switch to ground that wire to kill engine if you like, not sure what you want. Anyway, the starter part of the switch runs 12v like a car would, just like you have it. Acc position feeds 12v out to whatever is on it when in that position.

The difference is a car feeds 12v to power the ignition to make it run, while a lawn magneto system grounds it to kill it....& does nothing to make it run.

it is working fine thankfully..
should,or could i use the assc part of the switch for a fuse block?so it will only be hot with the key on?

or should the fuse block be wired straight off the battery with a fuse close to the battery?
does it matter if the fuse block is beside the battery?
or either it will be beside the gas tank? close to batt seems to make me feel better

I'd put a main fuse off the battery then wire to the switch. Then wire to a fuse block if you need one to put smaller fuse for each thing you run. Make sure you don't overload the switch, use a relay if you need to, as I don't have any idea what those switches are good for (in amperes) other than lawnmower lights. You know, like if you put some huge baja lights on it may be too much so just relay them.

You could put a block next to the battery and use one fuse for the switch acc power, and others for constant power if that is what you need. Try to put it where you can get at it, and if possible a protected location. I stay away from the tank, but bolted to something that can't touch the tank should be fine. Mostly the only possible thing is if a wire shorted and became red hot it should not be against a plastic gas tank, but it should be fused anyway so that can't happen. If you need larger wire for high draw you can use stereo wire or get some booster cables and chop them up.
