93 ELECTRIC Club Car DS
I have a 93 Club Car electric that I want to convert to gas. Any ideas on motor choice, how do I get reverse to work, what all do I need to make the conversion. New to the golf cart world, I have put a 6 inch lift and 22 inch tires on the cart but I am tired of the batteries and charging all the time. Want a cart with torque, top end maybe 20-25MPH. Don't want the kids to get too hurt on it, but I want to be able to climb hills hunting. Thanks

Re: 93 ELECTRIC Club Car DS
If you want reverse then most people get the rear axle and diff out of a gas cart. The reverse gears are often (but not always) built into the rear diff. There was one thread I read on here a while back where the guy used an electric starter off of a car to spin the rear axle for reverse.
I am converting from electric to gas as well. I won't have reverse when done, and I am not that worried about it... Not worth the extra build time and expense for me. |
