Default score! 16 vanguard

putting it into a g16. what can be done to this engine for more torque? Im not racing it. not doing big hill climbs. just going to be a shooting cart. but wanted the extra torque and power to go up and down the hills. also I need this to be as quiet as possible as not to disturbe shooters on the line shooting.
these are the numbers off the tag 303447 1442-e 04091711 would just removing the governor and fly weights be enough?
thanks for the help
Dave

You can get a rev kit for 100 and change, then take the governor out and you will be ok long as you don't hold it on the floor for a mile. But this does not really give you more torque as the stock cam runs out of power not far past 3600 governed rpm anyway. But they can run up to about 6K rpm that way. Far as mods I'm not sure on 16hp others here are, you can put the carb from larger twins on some of them, some the cams out of larger ones, there are some threads here on building them up. Of course there are aftermarket cams and all kinds of stuff you can get, but it can be hard on the budget. It should have way more power than stock, you will want larger tires at least 22s or HS gears as it will not go that much faster in a stock cart due to gearing.

Quiet is a thing we have fought for here at times, its hard to find a muffler that flows well and is quiet at stock cart. I have a walker quietflow car muffler and its about like a stock garden tractor far as volume....not bad but louder than a golf cart for sure.

wasnt planning on carb change out. just on replacing the smoking original. but as you can see I tend to go over board. was just supposed to be repair body and paint. way past that now.
