Default bigger big block 1.0 liter 992cc

well i figured id get a thread at least started on this beast of burden..
im a life long gear head, and always on the look out for motors and gears to make stuff or make it run..or put it where it dont belong/does belong

traded"400 in it" for a generac gt990 from a 17k geberator..it has 18 hrs on it then the gen screwed up so i got the engine to make a long story short.

just put a 420cc clone in my buggy that runs sweet and really hauls butt..dont really need more power, but power is always good..since reading kenions build and he said it would break the tires loose at any time you want them to break loose, just mash the gas..ok,im addicted im gullable that way lol.

heres the engine i got a month ago..

got some gaskets with extras in today.

more parts should be in in the next few days also.

forgot to mention this was a natural gas engine,so i removed the lp carb and ordered the "black death"intake from mudbuggy,,guy named mica in utah.and a tapered gen shaft for parts to maybe make a sleeve for the tapered shaft.

it says 33hp iirc, but with the alum intake and adapter, and a hsr 42mm mikuni i belive they guy said 50-55hp but not positive on that..
theres a guy that does tractor pulls with one and wins his class everytime i read..he has it pushing 125 hp supposedly.
i will keep it stock as poss.
it has flat top pistons since was a lp ran motor, and they told me with those pistons and the carb set up it wil be 10.5;1 compression..so i will run good gas in it
not sure what i will do with it yet but id like it in the cart..may have to buy a 1 inch crank for it to work tho,but just got parts today again that may help me decide..
just arrived, got the black death intake and mikuni42mm rubber boot, and gaskets.

got the shaft from a gen today also,,they guy pressed all the armature off it to send it to me for less money, but he broke his press doing it he said..its 18 inches long now,and plenty to chuck up in a lathe, but i dont think its gonna work,so another suvenier for the shop wall maybe.
lots of things could be done with this shaft

from what ive read they are 3000 hr industrial engines,to where the harbor freight 420 says its a 250 hr engine..
i went to make sure the taper on the shaft i got was the same,,yep they were.
checked the shaft a while ago,,def fits..

heres a link to the airboat guys that use them in 3-4 different hp ratings..if the pulleys were not so exspensive id do a mini airboat..
thie is the engine on most of the pics in the link,,theres also a video in the right corner that says"35mph in fla i think" shows it in action..kinda cool
http://www.dragonflyairboats.com/specs-pricing.html

mud buddy has there own parts for the engine like the "black death intake" i got the newest style..and they have a couple souped up head versions,,most gen engines if i read correct are forged cranks.
they also have billet rods, pistons etc etc..high dollar tho..the lil intake in the pic was 115 bucks..the big stock alum manifold to go with it was only 45 bucks..

That is one sick motor!
Is the crank drilled/tapped for a bolt?

when generac replaces a faulty generator they replace the entire unit and many owners have kept the engines..ive seen them for 400 and up..hard to find info on them as theres 4 people on here thats used or gonna use one,and the mini airboats, and 1 tractor pull guy..i think he runs jet fuel and nitrous tho ,haha
no other projects on the entire world wide web with these engines as i look all the time..
could be a real gas saver street bike id rather have a street car to play with but not sure on the rear end to use..
i also want a mini 2 seat long travel buggy, but if i have that,i will also have a hyabusa engine to go with it someday
its all just a step up the ladder till the next step comes along

edit' yes the crank has a bolt but is tapered really big and fat..may get a new crank but trying to come up with a machined piece from the shaft i got today..but i feel it will sick the clutch out to far..
now if i could find a big 1-1/2 inch clutch it would be much easyer maybe.
