G1 with Enticer 250 Head
Ok so i have started this build and its similar to another member here but there are more than one way to skin a cat. So far I've done a complete rebuild on a 82 g1 and there aren't to many original nuts and bolts left... but instead of putting the old head back on i opted to replace it with a Enticer 250 head that I had bored out .02 over. I also threw the old carb out and went with a mikuni VM34-389. now it hasn't been easy jetting this thing out but iam close (still a lil to rich). my current settings are,
Slow Jet: 95 Needle: 6DH4 Needle Jet: N8 Main Jet: 200 The plug is coming out with a nice brown color. I am still running the stock G1 pipe, and yes i know and have heard all the arguments but i need to get the smaller things dealt with before i can play with that. plus i need to find an enticer pipe as well, so if anyone has one, maybe donate for science ... well so far she is running a lot stronger than with the old head but not like she should be... that is where you guys come in with some help. when i am running her there seems to be no difference between lil less than 3/4 and wot. and when she is wot she doesn't sound revved out. anyone have ideas why? |

Re: G1 with Enticer 250 Head
It should be very difficult for you to find the top rpm with that motor. If it stops revving around 3/4 throttle, the main jet is probably a bit off. Make sure the air jet on the inlet horn is clean.

Re: G1 with Enticer 250 Head
now that air jet on the horn is it adjustable like the idle screw or is it a fixed thing? read the mikuni tuning manual but it doesn't say much about the air jet

Re: G1 with Enticer 250 Head
The air jet is fixed, just like the other jets. It is not normally changed out. The main jet is usually changed.
Do you have the Mikuni tuning manual specifically for the VM series? |

My pedal is also more vertical than I would like. I was thinking of rigging up some kind of "progressive linkage" to allow a low pedal, but full throttle opening with less movement.

Re: G1 with Enticer 250 Head
Here's a pic of the linkage I made for my old EZGO. I installed a VM series Mikuni. The pedal didn't have enough throw to fully open the throttle, so I made this that had a ratio of about 1.5:1. It worked very well. The top cable came from the pedal. The bottom cable went to the carb.
