Re: 100 mph
Anyone notice the trucks and vans going 130mph in that video? It sure looks cool but I don't know about stock front suspension at high speeds, and 200hp on an axle hanging on pillow block bearings. Maybe why the guy never really got on it. Getting to be a lot of these things on utube now, at least this one looks pretty nice.

Re: 100 mph
I'd rather have a sports car, that's just too much speed for an open cart with no protection, etc, etc, etc. Pretty cool though! LOL

Re: 100 mph
I agree. I had a buddy with a 'busa he would drop the clutch and lay rubber at 80mph on the expressway, then lean back and do a wheelie. Those things have serious power I did not see in that video. Seems they work best in the dunes where you can hardly ever have too much power.

Re: 100 mph
That guy is a moron, now way his speedo is correct. It does seem to run well though. (there is no way he would be doing 100 without eye protection, and the white lines in the road would be a near blur at 100 mph)

Re: 100 mph
Yeah I think he got up to 50mph or something by the looks of it.

Re: 100 mph
I just had a phenomenal idea. We should spoof these videos. Have a cart like mine do a burn out, then cut to driving footage, flash "100 MPH!!!" in red letters (post edit) while a child passes us up on a bicycle ringing a little bell.

Re: 100 mph
yea right, That pickup must have been doing 130+ then.I find it hard to believe he could find the right gears for the speedo to make it accurate, unless it is electronic, but still. The speeds he was claiming couldn't be right unless everyone else in Florida drives 80-100mph all the time. I like that part where he said they were doing 70, and the van blew by him.
I think the white line spacing is a national standard, you should be able to time the times between lines and come up with a close mph. |

Re: 100 mph
I can tell you from personal experiance.....a stock G16 steering (worm shaft/pitman and the lower control arms and shocks)...you DO NOT want to go over 50 mph! It would be incleadably unsafe over that. Tom ,"Bigblockman", I'm shure would attest to that also. Now if that car had been a G22 or updated to rack and pinion steering...Maybe.

Re: 100 mph
I also posted this video 6/15/13 in the "Crazy Man" thread in Big Block. Everyone knows my opinion, but just to help clear up his "Top Speed 100MPH"??? his speedometer has not been calibrated to the tire size, sprocket size in his cart and he is uninformed to think otherwise. I do however believe with a Busa engine this cart, it will go over 100 MPH, the Busa has more Horse Power than the 1000RR I have in mine and I have had mine clocked by radar(friend) at 115MPH and believe me with all the suspension work I did that was too fast for a Golf cart because it started to get unstable. The 1/8th mile times I had were in the 80 to 90 MPH range and it was still stable enough not to scare the crap out of me. I say "go for it" if you want to build a Bike Engine cart, they are absoutely cool, but I wouldn't go for 100+, I'd just smoke the tires and have a blast playing with a super powerful toy. Build on!!
