Default Honda GX670 Carb Problems?????

Ok so out of the blue it started running terrible. Went from flawless to terrible. Struggles to idle, then give it some gas and it sputters and really struggles to get any rpms. Almost like its missing. Smells of raw gas, front cylinder plug gets all carboned up and the rear is saturated in gas. Ive got good spark on both. Filled with fresh gas and somehow seems its pulling gas with it not running, a quarter tank vanished and the foam under engine is soaked in gas. Disconnected fuel line and it stopped. Thoughts? Ideas? Simple fix?

Trash stuck in the float seat! If the float in the carb can't close it won't shut off the fuel when the bowl is full.

Yep. Pull the airbox. then drain the carb. Left side of carb facing the front of the engine. Use a long flathead just loosen it 2-3 turns ans it should drain

THen disconnect the fuel line, Large black PCV hose, then the choke and throttle linkage and springs.

Then remove the 3 bolts holding the carb intake elbow to the engine. Flip it over and remove the 4 screws holding the float bowl on. Use vice grip to break them loose if they are stubborn.

Now you can see the float and the mains. there is a small silver pin holding on the float.

Slide it out and lift away the float. THe pin should be right there. Silver with a black rubber tip. Inspect for wear and or debris. If there is a deep ring worn into it, you need a new one. Clean and reassemble.

Slide it out. I always do the disassembly in a plastic tub so as not to loose part.

While you're at it, pull the plunger and spring from the fuel shut off and disconnect the wire. Serves no pupose on a cart.
