Air filter for big block
I'm building a briggs 16hp with a double barrel carb and I need to fing a nice aftermarket air filter. I need the whole thing. The frame and all. I would also like a pre filter.

Re: Air filter for big block
I used a car airbox on my clone, off a 2.0L cavalier. the nice part was the $7 filter and it fits 2" pvc out the bottom so you can pipe it. The top has a longer rubber intake hose. It was $10 in a boneyard. Used a 2" conduit nut on a threaded pvc fitting to connect 2" pvc to it and to the front of my cart.
Some photos here so you can see if it would work http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/clone...lone-bb-5.html |

Re: Air filter for big block
That looks cool but mine is a big block 16 hp briggs vanguard with a weber carb. I've seen some guys with filters on them here. I just don't know where to get one.

Re: Air filter for big block
What weber carb are you running. Part number? That will dictate the air cleaner. I run an air filter/cover for a weber on mine, but I have a Nikki 2-bbl.

Re: Air filter for big block
There is a thread here a guy with a vanny that bought two chrome air cleaners and cut one up to fit the second one so it goes on the carb.
I didn't want the airbox sucking all that dirt in there, here they get filled with dust in minutes when its dry out and the whole engine is brown. I figured the car had 120hp or more so it would flow enough lol. |
