16 hp Vanguard 2 bbl carb help.
Hey everyone im new to this forum but have come across it many times before searching on google. I dont own a golf cart but I have a vanguard engine on my mud motor. I just purchased a 2bbl carb and intake from a vertical 21hp engine off ebay. got a great price on it. Im going to have to get the elbow for it as my engine is a horizontal one. All of the ones ive seen put on are facing outwards. Is this the way you have to put them on? My concern is the throttle linkage will then be on the opposite side of where they should be. from videos online it looks like people switch it around but my ends are covered for the butterfly shaft to go through. any help would be much appreciated!!

The vertical shaft motor intake manifold will not fit on a horizontal shaft motor.

the second one is the intake I have. So i assume it will work fine on my motor. what do you think about the throttle linkage? I currently still have the governor hooked up and would like to leave it if possible. would it be easier to remove it and run my throttle cable straight to the carb?

The horizontal motors have a 'D' shaped intake port up to and including the 20hp. The 23hp have the round port. What is the part number on the intake you have?

******, i just measured it out and it must be the 23hp intake. supposedly a "21 hp" manifold and carb on ebay. looks like ill be buying another intake!

there is no part number on it but it wont match up to the block. :(
