Re: Clutch
Measuring belt size is more of an estimating game than anything. I try to run a tape measure around both clutches to simulate a belt and then add an inch or two.
To be honest, you really should pick a belt first and then make your mount based on where the engine sits. This prevents a lot of frustration. -Geoff |

Re: Clutch
There used to be a guide on comet's site. You put a measure around the bottom (inside) of the primary and top of the secondary like it would be at rest. Then push the top between clutches down 2" for slack, that is what you start with. This from memory. Belt should run straight between clutches. Its easier to measure a stock cart for the offset if you can, if using same clutches, you measure offset from fixed sheave to fixed sheave on back side. Also must be at 90 degree angle you can't have motor twisted for example. Run a straight edge off one clutch on back across the other and should be same measure to it on both sides don't have to use fixed sheaves for that.
