Re: $3 speedometer miles/metric
I can't think of anything right now...
The bike computer works very well as a speedo BTW. |

OK ,well then how about cheap night vision ? I have the kid's bonus goggles from ModernWarfare2, could wire up a black led spotlight to the roof.
I'm going to seriously consider the amphibious angle , "get wild ". |

Get yourself a cheap infra-red light source off ebay. Then you can use your cell phone camera to see in the dark.

Re: $3 speedometer miles/metric
The cheapo one I have from the dollar store goes down to 20" in diameter . If one had suitable math skills it could be possible to use this on smaller wheel/tire combos by exploiting the difference between a mile and a km. For example if the wheel rotated (for illustration purposes) one time per km, it rotates about 1.61 times in a mile . Here is about where my brain breaks down, but there is likely some formula you can use in programming a smaller wheel circumference (or diameter) to "trick" the $3 instrument to give a meaningful reading . The instrument would indicate kph but would actually"mean" mph. Or maybe it's reversed in that it indicates mph but actually"mean" kph.
I dunno . It's been year since I did any challenging math . Happy Christmas to everyone !! Going to watch "Kelly's Heroes" now. |

And the 20" diameter is for the wheel, not tire also. They have a setup menu that allow for various wheel diameters to be programmed in. I did find one that was adjustable in the menu down to a 12" wheel but it could not go as small as a 8" stock wheel.

Re: $3 speedometer miles/metric
Go to walmart and get the Schwinn digital bike speedometer. You program the tire circumference.

Re: $3 speedometer miles/metric
How low can you program it to? As I said most have a minimum limit
