I saw that too. Geoff at Vegas Carts was going to do some R&D on one at some point. I think the hesitation one might have is that there aren't any aftermarket parts for these yet? Or is it a "Honda Clone"? Anyone know?

I think it's a Honda clone with the same rev limiter as the newer Hondas.
I know Carol Stream dabled in these for a while as well. Now I don't see them on thier site.......

I saw them on everyone's site a couple months ago, think they had just passed epa or something. HD had them too. Price is up there at 1K because they are new, it will go down. Geoff says many mods for the clone will work on them. I would be surprised if they had the new Honda electronic ignition, but possible. Clones don't usually have the new stuff or they end up in court.

I should have said, I'm concerned that it may have the limiter.
Instead I made it sound like I knew it had the limiter....... my bad! Sorry.

but, those that know me know that I rarely have any clue what I'm talking about

None of us "really" know what we're talking about.... LOL We just make it up as we go!

Yeah I've heard the V Twin Honda's had that electronic rev limiter. Is that why people go with the Vanguards? I know the Honda's have a better rep for lasting long too, but that might be out the window if it's a clone anyway.

I'm anxious to see if anyone tries one out! At $1000, I'm not willing to R&D. Let's pool our money together and buy one for Geoff!!! I've got 5 bucks!

I have the old version (non electronic) GX 620. I like it. I've run it as high as 6k without any float.
they are pretty robust.
There are a ton more tweaks available for the Briggs motors though.

None of the stock lawn engines rev that hard stock anyway, though you can damage some without using better springs. After 5K my clone is pretty weak even with springs. Problem with the new honda is you can't get rid of the limiter, can't fit an older ignition to it easily, though sure someone will figure it out eventually. But not sure that engine is any good for aftermarket anyway since you can't take the heads off it. The clone will be where its at once aftermarket gets on it and the price drops.

Geoff has some last I knew.
