A new beginning......
Well after thinking long and hard on what to do, now that hunting season is over. i finally decided i need more power. my lil fe 290 run out of life, seems like 4 guys and wet red texas clay took its toll on the old girl this year.
there are so many options out there, and i just need a little more power. so i called up tom at cpp, and asked him for a little more power, this is what he sold me, 23hp vangaurd, race cam, high rev kit and advanced timing key. he said this should give me a little more power. so with motor and kit on its way, the journey starts here........... |

I think that setup is going to give you more that "a little more power". That engine will be pushing close to 30hp. Your stock engine is in the 9-10hp range. It's likely you might be doing wheelies! LOL
Congrats on making the jump to a big block! |

Re: A new beginning......
thanks slo,
i have been a bgw member for awhile, as because i am not the sharpest tool in the shed, this forum has been a blessing for me. wich is excatly why i am here hoping a few will chime in, to help me prep the cart, before the motor shows up on Wednesday....... Day one, make room in my cluter f#@!(% garage........ has so much crap on my cart, might start removing things like, cover, top, rear seat, sub woofer , amp, which are connected to the rear seat. my fancy jakes shifter, these things will keep me busy for a minute........ never took a body off before |

Re: A new beginning......
I would definately take the cart apart, the fact of making it easier to do the install you also need to check a few things on the Club Car. The Aluminum frame on the Clubs are prone to cracks, if your cart has seem any off road action where the frame got any flexing at all check the areas right behind the seat, the front cowl mounts almost always crack. Since your going with alot more Horses try to reinforce any of these areas with extra aluminum gussets. Plus with the body off you can make into more "show" cause your always going to be showing off that Big Block. Great choice with Tom's kit, you'll be very happy.

I guess you go out to East Beach and ride or fish, that used to be a really nice place but I haven't been there in 25 years+. Oh yea, Throw on an extra gas can and head South on Padre from Corpus to the cut, it's a great ride but for trucks it's definately 4 wheel drive only.
