Just picked up 18hp opposed twin
I found a 18hp opposed twin on craigslist for cheap so I picked it up, I just started it on the bench and this thing is gonna be sweet in the ezgo lol, I know I'm gonna need some help with wiring along the way so thanks in advance.

Contact pachanga, he's running an opposed motor in his ezgo. Great guy, he will help if he can.

Deerhunter.
I have one in my G9 and have had it now for 5 years. I paid $50.00 for the motor and it runs great and doesn't use any oil. I'm using a comet clutch and I adapted a Camaro muffler to it (Mounted underneath the back by the bumper. See the chrome tips.). Everyone says it sounds like a Harley. It only runs about 22MPH with 22" tires, but that's fast enough for me. It's a lot of fun. If you have any problems or questions feel free to ask. Here are a few photos. |

I don't have a close up picture, but I'm using the G9 gas cable and it's hooked to the Briggs throttle assembly from the factory. I'll be on it this Saturday and I'll get some more pictures for you.

Rifter,Did you ever look at my throttle setup? 3rd season and I haven't touched it since I set it up.On the Oppy, you need to remove one of the oil-dippers from 1 connecting-rod for higher rpm(i think over 2500)I'll find my book and post the info.I run Kendall Synthetic 30w,they are the only one who still makes 30w.You'll love the Oppy, they are nasty torque-motors.I built a header last yr,and clocked it on GPS at 32mph with 22" tires.

I forgot to add,the oil-dipper mods are for splash-lube engines. If you have an oil filter, then no issues.
