Electric to gas..... I know I know....
Ok before I get hundred responses telling me to sell my electric cart and buy a gasser instead of trying to convert it, I want to say I got the cart for 50 bucks and an 800cc polaris motor for another fifty so I am doing the swap.
My questions is about the rear axle. Once I remove the electric motor from the diff is there any way to attatch a pulley to the 19 spline input shaft so that I would not have to cheange the axle out? |

If you can do fab/welding work I don't see why not.

yes I can fab one up, just wondering if there are factory parts out there for this. I think I saw something similar to this on a gas cart.

Not that I'm aware of. Maybe someone else will join in here.

The rear axle is a Dana spicer unit that sticks up into the back area and has the electric motor attatched directly to it at a 90 degree angle.

Re: Electric to gas..... I know I know....
If you look at an ezgo 2 stroke and look at an ezgo electric of the same vintage the rear diffs look identical...with one exception, the gasser has a driven clutch and the electric has an electric motor. I DO NOT know for sure but they look identical....in other words I "Think" the electric motor will come off and you could use 2 stroke driven clutch....bolt right on. Again, not something I have tried, just an observation.

Re: Electric to gas..... I know I know....
thanks, yes it would make sense that they would make it this way to avoid haveing to make 2 entirely different rear ends just didnt know what brands use this set up. I will have to look that up. I think the motor I eill be getting has a driven clutch from the snowmobile with it so I may have to break down the EZ GO part and just use the input shaft. Anyone know of a good EZ GO parts site?

Re: Electric to gas..... I know I know....
i think it would be fairly easy if you just ripped out the electric tranny and just put a kawasaki gas transaxle in
