Motor level?
The motor in the cart, should it be level are a little higher in the front back what is everyones take on this.
Reason I ask is I was under mine today to bleed the brakes again and noticed one of the rear swing arm bolts was hanging down loose. The nut was still attached but it was almost off. No lock washer was present so I installed a lock washer and nut. Don't have any pictures of it but will tomorrow. Right now if I drain the oil I will have to jack the rear end up to get it to drain. I think it should be flat but want to hear what more experiance ones have to say. |

Re: Motor level?
I built my engine mount so the motor sits level. If you can, just install a drain in the front of the motor. There are plugs on both ends of the block.

Re: Motor level?
The quick drain is in the front of the motor and this is why it will have to be jacked up to get it to drain. It has a pretty good angle to the rear of the cart. But the rear plug is impossible to get out when the motor is mounted.

Re: Motor level?
Sorry, my fault. Can you install some piping from the rear plug so it is more convenient?

Re: Motor level?
Mine sits at a pretty good angle also. Higher towards the front of the cart

Re: Motor level?
Andy,
Was just looking at you pictures in the post above. I was wondering how the front motor mount was attached to the cross-member. Do you have a rubber mount or something like that or is it bolted tight directly to the cross-member? |

Re: Motor level?
Andy, from what I see in the pics you have no actual pivot mounts, all the movement in your swing arm is in the 4 bolt spacers, is this what I'm seeing here? If this is how it is setup, it's a breakdown just waiting to happen.

Re: Motor level?
Correct,
The front is bolted solid to the cart as is the rear. It has no pivot point at all. That was going to be my next question about it. I guess I need to make a pivot up front so that it can move up and down correct? It has a wicked vibration once you get going good also which I think is from the solid motor mounts. |
