Al Hodge of V-T performance

Well I meet Al today of Performance V-twins! Very nice guy.
I left him the block, pistons, crank, cam for him to work his magic. Going to have the block bored and put over sized flat top pistons in it with billet rods. He is going to build the 2 barrel carb and have the carb tapped for the fuel pump so I can run a set of his billet valve covers. He is going to call me when he get's everything tore down to make sure there arn't any other problems. If not I'm going to order a set of roller's for it also.
I want have it for the 4th of July but at least it will be ready for a fall ride.

You can count on it! His shop was very impressive. He had all kinds of motors there already built. He had a dozen are so of billet rods and pistons boxed and ready to ship. I was impressed!

Went by PQ also and spoke to the steen's always a pleasure talking to them.Got my friends cart swapped from 36 volts to 48 volts and it ran 32MPH with both of us on it.
Drove 2hrs home and got the old marothone running to. Had a good day.

Did he put a price-tag on the parts/labor for you?

If nothing unfor seen is wrong with it.

Right now the pistons are $525.00 for the set.
Boring the block is $100.00
$100.00 his labor to install them.
$75.00 for the carb rebuild back as it is. He has to get it a part also to get a good price.
+ whatever shipping is back to me.
Haven't talked price of rollers are covers because I wanted to wait and see if anything is wrong that we didn't see first. He said he would call me when he gets it tore down. I will see then on rollers and covers. I have $1000.00 to spend on it.

Dropped off the heads today at my local small engine guy to clean them up and put heli cores in them for the headers. # one has threads stripped on it. Going to reset all the valves also and do some polishing on them.

Called and talked to Al this morning. Wasn't to happy. He told me 10 12 days turn around. hasn't even started on it yet, said his machine shop closed for the 4th for 2 weeks and they just open back up this morning. needless to say wasn't happy about that since I took it the week and half before the 4th.
He said he would try and have it done by Friday so now I get a rush job on it on top of that!

Andy,are you going to be ready for a CAW ride in Oct? Me & Dave are going.I got a 23 hp engine ,cam & a rev kit from Andy I should have in by then.

I sure hope so! Once I get it back it will only take me one day to getter back running I hope.
