Default 18th vanguard in club car, couple questions.

So I got the motor in, clutch lined up, and everything wired. Now I'm at the fuel lines and can't decide what pump to use. The briggs pump mounts on the rear head and I'm not sure if it will draw fuel that far. If I use the club car pump it's mounted right by the tank, but the vacuum pulse is still at the rear unless I can switch valve covers? Will the club car pump supply enough fuel?

Next question is how do I measure the belt length? Or do I just get the big block club car belt from cpp, I am using stock clutches, with torque spring in the rear and the plus 200 rpm spring up front.

I would use the Briggs pump mounted on the shroud. It will keep the pulse line short like it needs to be. You may have to prime the pump by filling the fuel line with fuel.

Here is how to measure for the belt...

I ran a seamstress tape from the primary clutch center shaft, over the OD of the secondary clutch, and back to the primary, and added 2" to that measurement. Perfect length. I found that procedure on this site.

Thanks for the reply, ran fuel line about 3'6" to secure and route away from belt and exhaust. Vanguard pump primed itself no problem. Also looks like the 42" belt from cpp will work fine with minor shifting of the engine. Now I just need to get the idle down on this motor so the clutch won't engage, I have a feeling it's going to creep and not shift at idle.
