Default cooling ideas?

I have a 98 ezgo with a custom lift. I have a motor out of a suzuki 550 street bike. It is air cooled. Does anybody have a air cooled 4 cylnder in theirs? Wondering how to cool it with mabey fans or should I just go with a liquid cooled engine? Any sugestions would be very helpful!!

Honestly, I don't think I would worry too much about it. I would think as fast as that thing goes, I'm sure it is generating air from underneath. I'm not just saying this I used to be a Honda tech.

Check the amp draw on the automotive cooling fans before you get too deep in it. Not many of the smaller bike or sled motor charging stators will keep up with the draw from those fans, and they should be run through a relay.
Marine engine compartment blowers draw way less amps and move enough CFMs to change the air under the seat. You can also mount them anywhere and route the plastic duct work where you need it. Don't have to get them here but here they are. I have one one my Yamazuki and it works fine.

well in my applacation i think i will be fine... i am going to run a built 35 hp briggs.. now the engine it slef has a fan. and i am just going to run 1 ten inch fan, just to be safe and run it on a switch. so if it is hot - flip a switch for a few mins.

I was running a GS 1000 motor in mine and it got so hot the header was glowing. I ended up machining the oil galley, put a oil cooler and fan on it. It still ran hot so I swithced over to methanol alcohol which did the trick, but a pain in the @$$.... Good luck!

well that has not much to do with the engine temp running cooler, i hope that the header was hot! my lil brother has a 450 quad and put a slip on muffler / pipe on it and the header was turning red / glowing orange also.

That would be a jetting issue. I had that happen with my minisprint before with a fan running. That is definately jetting.

I agree, jetting was a issue in my application, but it also seemed like it wasn't getting enough air. I do know from now on I will use only liquid cooled motors in confined spaces.
